ABS-CBN’s Jeff Canoy, Anjo Bagaoisan talk social media in news reporting on April 24

The lecture is open to university students, particularly those who study journalism. Practitioners are also welcome to attend.

The Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines (FOCAP), with Ayala Corporation, continues its Teodoro Benigno Jr. Journalism Lecture with ABS-CBN chief of reporters Jeff Canoy and ABS-CBN News Digital deputy editor Anjo Bagaoisan.

This lecture is hosted in partnership with the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Media and Communication (UPD CMC), the UP Journalism Club, and Tinig ng Plaridel.

Canoy and Bagaoisan will discuss using social media as a tool to deliver the news in the midst of rapidly changing audience trends and habits. The lecture will be held at the UPD CMC Auditorium on April 24, 2025 (Thursday). The lecture will run from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Lunch will be served during the lecture.

Hosted annually by FOCAP, the Teddy Benigno Lectures is one of the association’s major flagship media events. With a focus on reaching campus journalists around the country, it is named after Teodoro “Teddy” Benigno, one of FOCAP’s founders who was a long-time bureau chief of Agence France-Presse in Manila. He also served as press secretary of former President Corazon Aquino.

For questions or concerns, you may reach FOCAP Secretariat Matthew Yuching through Viber (+639629682559) or through email (secretariat@focap.ph).

The UP Journalism Club is an official partner for this event.
