For over 70 years, the UP Journalism Club has been home to young writers and creatives who aspire to be movers of the media industry.
Who we are
The UP Journalism Club (UPJC) is a nonprofit, university-wide, academic organization based at the University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication (CMC).
Established in 1954, the organization has since been committed in promoting professional and ethical standards in journalism through its tradition of critical thought and action.
UPJC was recognized as the best organization in UP CMC in 2016 and 2017 and was acknowledged by the university’s Office of Student Activities as the student-run organization with the most public service initiatives in the campus.
Throughout the generations, UPJC has been home to several luminaries across media, politics and the academe.
What we do
UPJC has always been active in informing citizens and advancing media literacy throughout the country through its various publications and public service events and projects.

UPJC continues to dedicate its endeavors to the formation of educated and skilled members who will uphold the principles of ethical journalism.
With this in mind, applicants undergo a semester-long learning experience packed with engaging activities and educational workshops.
