UPJC celebrates its 53rd year

The UP Journalism Club held its week-long anniversary celebration on February 18 to 22, 2008. Titled, “Think Tech, Too,” technology was the theme of the 2008 UPJC week.

The celebration kicked off with the Exhibit Launch and Grand Pakain on February 18 at the CMC second-floor lobby. The exhibit was shot and edited by resident member Paul Paner.

In keeping with the theme, a symposium on online journalism was held on February 19 at the CMC auditorium. The guest speakers were Inquirer.net Executive Editor Leo Magno, GMAnews.TV Officer-in-Charge Joe Torres, and the CMC Journalism Department chair Rachel Khan.

The highlight of the week was the UPJC/Inquirer Quiz Show, held on February 21 in Room 201. Toni Tiemsin, Katherine Lopez and Virgil Lopez emerged as winners.

The 2008 UPJC week was sponsored by the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Zesto, Krispy Kreme, Lyn’s Lutong Bahay, and Nadasha Fud Hauz and Internet Café.
