The UP Journalism Club (UPJC) has successfully elected a complete executive board for its 70th year, marking the end of a two-term period of vacancies.

The elections, held from June 20-22, culminated in the selection of the following officers:

  • President: Chris Josef de Jesus
  • Vice President for Internal Affairs: Joanna Nicole Salayo
  • Vice President for External Affairs: Micah Grace Buenafe
  • Editor-in-Chief: Pietro Alfonso Jose Albano
  • Vice President for Publicity: Angela Chloe Nicolas

Following the elections, the board appointed four officers-in-charge (OIC) following a resolution passed by the organization’s general assembly on June 25.

  • OIC for Academic Affairs: Karl Patrick Suyat
  • OIC for Alumni Relations: Alexia Gayle Gailo
  • OIC for Finance: Helena Kristina Cos
  • OIC for Membership: Samuel Benjamin Zach Basiao III1

The election saw a voter turnout of 11 out of 20 eligible voters. Originally, 22 voters were listed, but two opted out due to their pending alumni status.

This milestone year marks a new chapter for UPJC, as it moves forward with a fully staffed executive board dedicated to continuing the organization’s tradition of critical thought and action.
