Probing Issues through Profiles

The show that started investigative reporting on Philippine TV is on to a new brand of probing. To explain issues relevant to the public, on its 22nd year, Probe takes a harder look at the men and women of the hour.

Starting June 17, Probe Profiles hits the airwaves with a weekly investigative profile of the hottest figures in the news. Every Wednesday, veteran journalist Cheche Lazaro peels the layers of the country’s most controversial figures by going over their past and examining their present to understand and analyze the core issues that affect the Filipino. The show banks on the hallmarks of Probe–meticulous research, incisive questioning, and fair and insightful journalism–as it pieces together the lives of its subjects to help the public make sense of their own.

For its pilot episode, Probe Profiles sits down with Dr. Vicki Belo and goes beyond the glamour, stardom, and controversies behind the career woman hurting from broken relationships and betrayal. In a rare and candid interview with Lazaro, the ‘cosmetic surgeon to the stars’ confesses that she can never live without a man in her life. Belo’s family and friends help weave her story of love that begins not with the men who have failed her, but with her childhood as an adopted daughter brought up like a princess.

Probe Profiles faces Belo’s biological father who recalls the day he gave her away and reveals his feelings and innermost thoughts about the life-altering decision that he has kept to himself for more than 50 years.

For the dope on Dr. Vicki Belo without any concealers, watch out for Probe Profiles on Wednesday, June 17, after Bandila on ABS-CBN.
